Happy Days - The bodyshell is home!

Picked up the bodyshell last Friday, and with some help, it's now safely in my garage.

First impressions? Love it, love it, love it! Love the colour, love the smell of GRP, love it! Will stroke it a couple of weeks and then make a start. Finished the garage also, and got the racking in, so now have space for the spare parts in there. Need to get support frame done now. Will post up photo's soon.

Garage Electrics All Finished

Completed all the garage electrics, and also all the insulation and inner boarding. It all worked first time. Now just the floor painting left and ready to build.

Car Bodyshell is being done right now, so ready for pick up for Easter!

Got to finish the garage off!

Just realised that time is fast approaching for the kit delivery. I've had a timber garage built (18' x 16') so that I have somewhere to keep my baby (and also somewhere to sleep once the wife chucks me out!), and I'm just in the rpocess of finishing the electrics for it as well as insulating the walls. Just need to finish that off now, and get a work bench in there with some storage racks.

If anyone knows of a place, let me know!

Initial kit ordered!

Just to say, I’ve ordered the bodyshell and the first couple of stages for the build, which means also having chosen the colour as well – that was a hard task! Will post more up here when I get used to using this blog and have a little more time. At the moment, I’m due to pick up the shell around the end of April. That’s when divorce proceedings will start as that’s the time I spend a little more time in the garage.

Where am I building it? Well…I’ve built a little shed for it. Will put more info and maybe even a picture of it (boring!). Just need to finish it off before I pick the GD up. Need to complete the electrics for it, and also finish insulating it. More later. Will also need to post up why I chose a GD from all the others out there.

Later.

A start....!

This is the stat of my blog. What’s it about I hear you ask? Well, I decided to build a car, an AC Cobra replica. Over the coming months and years (as I figure it will take me a few years to build), I plan on completing a Gardner Douglas Mark IV Euro chassis based AC Cobra replica, and I am most excited by this!!!!

Check in from time to time on my progress, challenges and no doubts moments of frustration. I have only 1 objective - to finish it! I will update some more soon.

thanks,
Mark
